The Four DORA Metrics We Score

Each metric is mapped to the latest Elite, High, Medium, and Low performer benchmarks from the State of DevOps research.

Deployment Frequency

How often your team successfully releases code to production. Higher frequency correlates with smaller, safer changes and faster feedback.

Lead Time for Changes

Time from a code commit to that change running in production. Reveals end-to-end pipeline health and review bottlenecks.

Change Failure Rate

Percentage of deployments that cause a production incident, rollback, or hotfix. Indicates the strength of your quality gates.

Failed Deployment Recovery Time

How quickly your team recovers when a deployment fails in production (the metric DORA previously called time to restore service / MTTR). Measures detection, response, and rollback capabilities.

How It Works

1

Answer 4 Quick Questions

Tell us about your deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and failed deployment recovery time. Takes about 5 minutes.

2

Automated DORA Scoring

Your responses are mapped to the latest DORA benchmarks (Elite, High, Medium, Low) and scored on each metric instantly.

3

Senior-Engineer Verification

A DORA expert reviews the automated result, sanity-checks the context against your tooling and process, and adds tailored recommendations.

4

Detailed Report Delivered

Receive your DORA performance tier, per-metric scores, top bottlenecks, and a 30/60/90 day roadmap within 2 business days.

What You Get

Your report will include the following deliverables.

DORA Performance Tier (Elite / High / Medium / Low)
Per-metric scores with benchmark comparison
Top bottlenecks limiting deployment frequency and lead time
Change failure root cause analysis
Failed deployment recovery time (formerly MTTR) improvement recommendations
Prioritised 30/60/90 day improvement roadmap

Your Data is Protected

We take access to your systems and code seriously. Here is exactly how we handle your data - no ambiguity, no exceptions.

NDA Before We Start

We sign a non-disclosure agreement before any processing begins. It explicitly commits us to using access solely for generating your report - nothing else, ever.

Isolated Environment

All analysis runs inside a dedicated, isolated sandbox. Your data never touches shared infrastructure and is never accessible to any other process or person.

Zero Data Retention

Once your report is generated and the findings are extracted, the sandbox is permanently and irrecoverably deleted. We retain absolutely nothing from your environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions we hear from teams running this assessment.

Where do the DORA benchmarks come from?

The Elite, High, Medium, and Low performer clusters are derived from the State of DevOps research published by Google's DORA team, using the cluster analysis from the most recent report. We update our scoring tables whenever new benchmarks are published - including the 2024 report's shift from 'time to restore service' to 'failed deployment recovery time'. Note that the 2024 research also added a fifth metric, rework rate (unplanned work to fix user-facing issues); this checklist scores the four core delivery metrics, and a senior engineer can discuss rework rate in your debrief.

Do you need access to my repository or CI system?

No. The DORA Checklist is based entirely on the four self-reported metrics you provide in the form. There is no integration step, no credentials, and no read access to your code or pipelines.

How is a deployment defined?

We follow the DORA definition: any successful release of code to production or a production-equivalent environment that real users depend on. Internal-only releases, feature-flag toggles, and staging deploys do not count.

What is automated, and what is verified by a senior engineer?

Scoring against the published DORA benchmarks is fully automated. A senior DevOps engineer then reviews the result, sanity-checks the context against the platforms and processes you described, and adds tailored recommendations before the report is sent.

How long until I receive my report?

Most DORA reports are delivered within 2 business days. You will receive an email confirmation as soon as you submit, and the final report as a shareable PDF when it is ready.

Can I share the report with my leadership team?

Yes. The report is delivered as a PDF that is designed to be shared internally with engineering managers, directors, and executives. There are no per-seat or per-share restrictions.
